Sullivan Meyer
Princeton University, Class of 2024
Sullivan is on the research and business teams. He plans on concentrating in mechanical and aerospace engineering, with possible minors in technology and society and visual arts.
Sully has been interested in engineering as long as he can remember, but he fell in love with the creative process of engineering-design on his high school robotics team. After that team almost tanked in his sophomore year, he found something else out: If engineers ran the world, the world would stop running. So he invested himself in the management side of the team, and found that he really enjoyed entrepreneurship. At about the same time, he took his first high-school level history classes, and became increasingly interested in politics.
That combination of experiences in high school lead Sully to his current interest, which is science and technology policy and how it is dealt with in politics. Given that he cares about his future, Sully is especially interested in climate policy, but he can typically muster interest in just about any topic. In the future, Sully wants to work in politics, so he can help to improve the mechanics of government to better address the issues of the modern world.
For this reason, Sully has become more politically active in college, volunteering with numerous political organizations on-campus and campaigns off-campus. In his free time, Sully enjoys art, especially drawing. He played baseball in high school, and he hopes to apply his extremely limited athletic ability to a club sport once he is on campus.
